Homecoming Potluck for Elder Packham

The Alameda Young Men hosted another Missionary Potluck dinner, this time for the returning Cameron Packham, who recently returned from his mission to Japan.  The potluck was held after church and was done with the Spanish Branch as well as the Alameda Ward.

The potluck was very well attended - probably about 70 people stayed after church.

Lots of yummy food...

Cameron showed some pictures and told of some of his favorite missionary experiences.

I think it was another successful missionary event as well as fun ward activity.

Hot Rods

Tonight we visited Bill Schnell's Auto Shop - if memory serves, Bill (who is a counselor in the Rocky Butte Ward Bishopric) has been working on hot rods there for 54 years.  He had a few in his shop that he showed  the group (like the one we were standing in front of), as well as fired up a new engine he was testing.

I think the group may not have been that excited before the trip but I think they caught some vision of why people take the time to build these cars.
